Healthcare company presents a big cheque to CHEC!

With a commitment to improving lives and building futures, leading healthcare product manufacturer, Niagara Therapy has recently made a donation of £1000 to the Chailey Heritage Enterprise Centre (CHEC) located in North Chailey.

CHEC, located at the Chailey Heritage Centre, opened in 1995 to provide a professional working environment for young, physically disabled people who had left formal education and experienced problems accessing open employment because of their disability.

The sponsorship donation from Niagara Therapy will help the charity with its plans to host a Summer Business Networking event at the AMEX Stadium in Brighton in August. In what is their twentieth year, CHEC plans to use the event as an opportunity to raise awareness of the work they do within the local community and encourage more businesses to use their print and design services.

Commenting on the donation, Matthew Barber, Centre Manager said: “we were delighted to accept the very kind donation from Niagara Therapy. As a social enterprise, we are reliant on donations and sponsorship to help us continue our work here. CHEC is dedicated to nurturing the ambition and motivation within individuals giving them the opportunity to find enrichment in their lives by focusing on what they can contribute rather than their impairments. In what is an increasingly difficult funding landscape for the provision of services for disabled people post education, this fantastic donation will really help towards the cost of our summer business event. We hope the event will enable us to showcase the work we do here to the wider business community.”

As well as the financial donation, Niagara Therapy also donated some of their NHC Cyclo-Therapy vibration massage products too. NHC Cyclo-Therapy works on a three-dimensional “cycloidal vibration” which is non-invasive, giving a gentle and relaxing experience while stimulating the blood flow and muscles.

Many of the disabled adults who work at the centre do experience muscle tension and joint stiffness and NHC Cyclo-Therapy is proven to help relieve the pain and sometimes debilitating associated symptoms for those with a number of medical and physical conditions.

At the presentation, a Cyclopad and a portable hand unit, with a total value of over £1500 were donated to the centre. The hand held device allows users to instantly target troublesome areas while the pad is portable and versatile allowing therapy to be applied across a larger area of the body.

Ben Payne, Group Marketing Manager at Niagara Healthcare said: “With our company headquarters located in Crawley, we are always looking to see how we can help local charities and we were only too pleased to be able to see the work CHEC do. We’ve already used their print and design services and were very happy to be a sponsor of their summer business event. We knew also that our vibration massage products might be able to help those who work there as it can help to relax and rest muscles, soothe most rheumatic pain and improve blood circulation. This donation marks the start of our relationship with CHEC and we will be revisiting them in a few weeks’ time to see how the NHC Cyclo-Therapy products have helped.”

All of Niagara Therapy’s products contain the original, unchanged NHC Cyclo-Therapy system and the company has helped over 85,000 people feel better through a range of products.

Recently, Niagara Therapy announced that following a successful trial, its NHC Cyclo-Therapy products have now been adopted at all twelve of the UK’s spinal cord injury centres. During the trial that took place at the London Spinal Cord Injury Centre, part of the Royal National Orthopaedic NHS Trust (RNOH), the therapy units enhanced the way Occupational Therapists perfovrmed treatment, with patients feeling the benefit within just 10 minutes.
